Birmingham has one of the country's best zoos, but the older you get the less you seem to want to go to the zoo. Too bad because I like animals! |

Fascinating place! This is my favorite attraction in Birmingham. There is so much variety here that everyone can find something they find interesting no matter their age. |

The shows produced at this theatre are aimed at the Kindergarten thru 6th grade level but they really are fun for the whole family. |

The older you get the less you like water parks and roller coasters, but this is a fun outing for a day for all aged children. |

This is a must see. If you ever tell someone you visited Birmingham, they will ask you about the "Naked Statue" and you don't want to tell them you didn't see it. The problem for teenagers is that every field trip they take to Birmingham they will stop to see it, so after a few trips it is boring. But it doesn't take long-- so stop by and take your pictures. |

As a teenager, I used to sing in choir concerts here and thought it was just a big building. Now I see it and think "I really got to sing in a place like this?" This is definitely an attraction your children will grow to appreciate as time goes by. |

As a girl, I could not care less about 850 motorcycles, even if they are antiques. But boys are different and they seem to like this place very much. |

Dad's like this place because it reminds them of their Alabama sports heros from when they were young. But for children it is about a bunch of athletes they never grew up with or in some cases never even heard of. Boring! |

Not something I would want to do over and over, but it is fun for the whole family to go to one of the races at Talledega. The track does tours when there isn't an event coming up and the Hall of Fame museum next door has over 100 vehicles in six buildings plus some interactive stuff. Boys will like this more than girls but it is pretty cool for everyone. |

I think everyone is fascinated by flight and this museum is worth a visit. Teenagers may act disinterested but I think even they will enjoy it. |

If you are a railroad buff this is a blast. If not then it is better for younger kids. |

The younger you are the less likely this is to be fun or interesting. For younger kids it gets boring quick. |

This subject matter may be too intense for young children and they may ask you some questions that are unanswerable ( for instance "Why did people do that?" about acts of violence). Teenagers and adults are more interested in the history of Alabama so they will get more out of this. |

Again, this site may be hard to explain to youngsters. Better for teenagers and adults who can appreciate its importance. |

Kids will enjoy seeing how the actual furnace operated (particularly the once a month iron pur demonstration). Teenagers may not care as much but iron and steel are an important part of Birmingham's history so drag them along anyway! This attraction also shows how segregation worked as an institution since the business was run in a completely segregated manner. Best of all: Admission is Free! |

Three thumbs up but all from the gals! I doubt this will hold much interest for the guys, but it is payback for some of the other places we girls got dragged to! |

Arlington is the only antebellum mansion in Birmingham because it was built 20 years before the city was founded! More interesting to those old enough to appreciate it. |

I think children like this attraction, but the problem is that they often visit it as part of field trips so it may not be the best choice for during a vacation |
|
|
|

|
This is probably best for kids in their high school or junior high band. |

As much technology as children use today, some will enjoy seeing where it all came from. Not for everyone but worth a visit. |

There are not many show caves in the Southeast and most people will enjoy visiting this but small children will be the most fascinated. Take note that it is 36 miles southeast of Birmingham |
